18 -year-old Jaguar XK8

From time to time we get to work on something a bit meatier though. These pictures document the work involved to repair this 18-year-old Jaguar XK8. Starting with the nearside we focused on the wheel arch and got to work with filler. A couple of other patches also needed some attention on the door too.

Here’s a closer look at the wheel arch and step one of the repair to this Jaguar XK8. A lot of layers and of course our expert knowledge is used to turn body repair from something that looks like this to the finished result you’ll see at the end of the blog.

Unfortunately, the nearside wheel arch was in need of similar treatment from our experienced team.

Now we were getting somewhere with the major body repairs completed. Once the filler was sanded and the car could be prepared for primer.

The offside and nearside both were now ready for the next stage with the all-important covers for the areas we won’t be spraying.

Bodywork repaired – time for the primer

Here’s a look at the nearside after a coat of primer – you can already see how seamless the repair is, even before any paint is applied!
