Caffeine and Octane with Teresa
My name is Teresa. In my professional life, I am an educator. But, outside of my career, I am a petrolhead. My love of cars, Ferrari, in particular, really goes back to my younger days when I would watch Magnum P.I. My dad always would take me to cruise‐ins and car shows as a kid, too. I am a huge Formula 1 fan. I watched my first F1 race on television in 2000. From that point on, I was hooked. One of my favourite things to do, where I currently live, is attend Caffeine and Octane.
Caffeine and Octane is a monthly event in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. It is held on the first Sunday of every month and takes place in the parking lot of a local shopping mall. Hundreds of cars show up every month. The crowds that attend can be weather dependent. If the weather is nice and sunny, the crowds are much larger than if the weather is cold or rainy. The types of cars that you see at Caffeine and Octane vary. You have classic cars, exotic cars, modern cars, trucks, and the occasional fire truck. There are car clubs that also attend. Groups that represent Challengers, Mustangs, Nissan, and others are in attendance.
I always have the tendency to gravitate towards the exotic cars. These are my favourite. I also tend to gravitate towards the Ferraris. But, I really love all of the exotic cars. The following are just a few of the many cars that I happened to snap photos of during the most recent Caffeine and Octane held on June 5, 2016.
Probably my favourite car that I happened upon was this brand new Ferrari 488GTB. The primary reason I love it is because it is a Ferrari and I have a bit of a Ferrari obsession. This model, though, just has a really great, sleek look that I love.
My next favourite was this stunning McLaren. Actually, this was one out of a line of six McLarens. But, I loved this red one. I was drawn to the colour, primarily. It just really stuck out to me, compared to the other McLarens it was parked next to. Plus, it is still a rare thing that I see a McLaren around town. So, to see six of them in one place, was actually quite a thrill for me.
This Shelby Mustang GT 500 caught my eye.I loved the fact that it was a Shelby. I also really just loved the colour combination on it. It really fit in with my recent Mustang obsession.
This Porsche GTS is another car that really caught my eye. Porsches are quite common here, so I see them on a regular basis. This one really stuck out to me. I liked the colour and the wheels. I liked the fact that it is sleek. My love for Porsches does not quite rival my love of Ferraris, but it is a close second. After all, I did name my cat, Porsche.
I hope that you have enjoyed this brief look at Caffeine and Octane. If you are ever in the Atlanta area on the first Sunday of the month, it is definitely the place to be if you are a petrolhead.
