End of lease? We can help.
This company car came in with a full decal wrap that needed removing as well as some damage to the front bumper. We had to firstly remove the decal and then spray and fit a brand new front bumper. The Renault is a company car that has come to the end of lease and needs to be prepared to go back to the leasing company. We recommend getting advice from a car body repair specialist at the end of your lease agreement, whether your car is a personal or company vehicle.
Here’s the new front bumper with a coat of primer. We spray and bake all our paintwork in our on-site oven, which allows us to complete car body repairs as quickly as we can. We match the manufacturer’s colour and finish with coats of paint and lacquer before using the low-bake oven to finish the work. Although it might seem a bit of an outlay, when your vehicle is at the end of lease it’s best to get the advice of a car body repair specialist, if you have any damage that is more than just a little chip or scratch.
At the end of lease it’s important to think, if you were buying the vehicle at the end of the contract, would you be happy?
All leasing companies are obliged under the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA)’s Code of Conduct. The guidelines they use are in place to not only protect you, but the leasing companies too. It’s best practice to check over your vehicle, making sure all electronic and safety features are in working order. There should also be no rust or corrosion on the car. The car obviously should be roadworthy and have no warning lights displayed on the dashboard at the end of lease. Another top tip is to ensure that the vehicle has enough fuel for the journey back to the leasing company!
As well as the basics, at the end of lease you need to make sure the car appears in good condition and represents the age of the vehicle. Some issues like minor stone chips aren’t a problem. If there is substantial damage to the car it is best to take it to a body specialist (such as Car Magic) to get it checked and repaired if necessary. A finance company will bill you for any damage they find on inspection. We know from experience that this is likely to hit your pocket harder than the bill we would give you in most cases.
